Alkaline-based paint strippers
Alkaline-based paint strippers contain, in addition to strong alkalis, also organic accelerators of the paint stripping effect and a paraffin cover phase (overcoat). The advantages of the cover phase are both lower evaporation at application temperatures (loss of bath volume, fumes) as well as increased bath life (the cover phase works also as a reservoir for the paint stripping accelerators).
